Heinrich
(Henry)
(d. 934)

Count of Altorf (Weingarten)

Saint Konrad (d. 975), the bishop of Constance, was a particularly prominent son of Heinrich.  But the south German Welfs were not securely established until the time of Rudolf II. (d. 992).  In complete contrast to the south German Welfs, the Burgundian Welfs succeeded as kings in Upper Burgundy against the Carolingians until their final extinction in 1032.
